After a Year of Marriage

January 9th, 2010
Jared & Katherine Tait

Well, it has almost been a year since my husband and I where married, and YES I am finished will all of the hundreds of thank you cards. FINALLY! Now I just need to address them and send them out! Good thing there is a one year grace period for these things, because I needed it. After finally finishing and looking at the huge stack of all the thank you cards it really made me realize how supportive my friends and family are. So thank you so much! I love you all.

Whenever someone hears how long my husband and I have been married they always make some comment about how "oh... you're still in the honeymoon phase" or "Wait until you two get sick of each other"...or "Oh so you don't even know each other yet." I dislike these comments very much. First of all, I intend on making this "honeymoon" phase last a very very long time. I don't like the insinuation that after awhile my husband and I won't be as happy, and we will come to not like each other. So dear nay sayers.... CAN IT and let me enjoy my new marriage.

I have learned so much about my husband in the past year. Like how he is ticklish EVERYWHERE! I have heard a lot of people say that before, but never have I experienced this level of ticklishness. He is even ticklish on top of his shoulders! How weird is that!?!? I have also learned that he can twirl a basketball on one finger, he cant go a day without asking me for a back rub, and he has a problem with using the same sponge for dishes and cleaning the sink/counters. =) I have also come to find that without me,  the cupboards would never be used (because he would rather leave the new groceries on the counter top for days), bathroom floors would never ever be cleaned, and his shoes would never make it to the closet! Although these things drive me crazy, but I love it all anyway.

This isn't all I have learned though, I have learned that my electric bill would be twice as high every month because I don't turn off lights when I leave a room, I would be injured far more often by the cabinets I am always leaving open, and I would hardly ever go grocery shopping because I don't like bringing in the food by myself.

I am so happy to be married to my husband. He is such a hard worker, and en excellent provider, and after a year of marriage I still get excited for him to come home every day... and I intend to keep it that way. :)

Happy coming soon Anniversary Jared!
